Keeping up outdoor exercise routine 'requires motivation'

08/02/2010
Taking part in sports and exercising outdoors with a friend are great ways to keep yourself motivated, according to fatfreefitness.co.uk.

Weight loss expert Rich Leigh, the founder of fatfreefitness.com, said that people often get disheartened by a new exercise routine if they don't see results straight away.

He suggested trying to keep exercise goals as "realistic and specific as possible" and finding a "gym buddy" if you begin to lose focus.

"If you get involved in a sport or some other form of activity, such as playing squash once or twice a week with somebody from your work, then you are learning to enjoy it as opposed to just trudging along," he explained.

Researchers from London Metropolitan University recently produced a study for International Fitness Week, which is taking place between February 1st and 7th, that shows people who take part in regular exercise feel happier, are less stressed, have more energy and more confident with their bodies.
