Basketball fan learns about trampoline safety
03/03/2010 One basketball fan in the US learned a lesson about trampoline safety the hard way at a Memphis Grizzlies game this week.
The fan was asked down on to the court during a break in play to try and score a slam dunk by jumping on the trampoline and putting the ball through the hoop.
However, the trick, which is often performed by mascots and professionals, did not go to plan and the fan ended up hitting his face on the edge of the basket.
Videos of his accident have now been posted across the internet and serve as a very public reminder that people should not attempt tricks beyond their ability on a trampoline.
However, parents should not worry as accessories are available which make it much safer for children to jump on trampolines.
Safety nets are one purchase which significantly reduces the risk of injury on a trampoline. They can be found for most makes of trampolines and prevent children from falling off. Some models also cover the harder fixtures on a trampoline.
