Beckham 'may use trampoline for rehabilitation'
16/03/2010 A trampoline could be one of the pieces of equipment used to help David Beckham recover from the injury that could rule him out of the World Cup, according to one expert.
Sammy Margo, English football's first female physiotherapist, told CNN that the footballer is likely to face many months of physiotherapy, which could include using an oxygen chamber and a trampoline.
"David Beckham will no doubt have the very best treatment available, but while you can optimise recovery, you can't defy the laws of nature," she explained to the American news provider.
Beckham damaged his Achilles tendon in a league game for his club AC Milan against Chievo and has undergone surgery in Finland to correct the problem. However, the injury means that he could miss out on his dream in playing in four World Cups for England.
Trampolining is known to be an extremely low impact exercise, which makes it ideal for those who are recovering from injury or have problems with their joints.
It is believed that 80 per cent of the force of the bounce is absorbed by the trampoline pad.
