Black bears joins in the trampoline fun
03/07/2009 A black bear attempted to join in the trampolining fun when he inadvertently arrived in a Denver neighbourhood, it has been reported.
Denver News reports how the mysterious visitor wandered into a residential street in Highlands Ranch, Douglas County, and ended up asleep on a garden trampoline.
Fortunately for the bear, he landed on the soft trampoline matting after being tranquillised and falling out a tree the ground would have been much firmer.
However, there was lees good news for the family who owned it, as breaking the fall of the 150-pound beast led to the trampoline being bent out of position.
Ramshead Court resident Rod Michotte, who witnessed the incident, commented: "The kids aren't happy. [The bear] broke the trampoline when he fell but he was about 30 feet into the air but it looks like it came out alright."
The bizarre incident may at least have highlighted another potential use for trampoline safety nets not only do they ensure safe use for the children but perhaps they can also keep members of the animal kingdom at bay!
