Bring exercising outdoors into your daily routine
26/03/2010 Incorporating a small amount of outdoor exercise into your daily routine can make a big difference, according to one expert.
Dr Laura Wyness, senior nutrition scientist at the British Nutrition Foundation, said that many women feel that they don't have time to take up a dedicated fitness regime but small amounts of exercise can be fitted in their daily lives.
"People can take the stairs rather than the lift, or people could get off of the bus a stop early and walk the rest of the way to work, or to town," she explained.
Another option Dr Wyness didn't mention could be jumping on a trampoline during commercial breaks, as many experts believe that it is the most efficient form of exercise and almost 60 per cent more effective than running.
Dr Wyness was commenting on the results of a study from the University of Liverpool which found that anti-obesity drugs failed to produce long-lasting effects on health and wellbeing.
It also recognised a number of safety concerns with some of the most common diet pills on the market.
