British team 'so close to trampoline medals'
16/11/2009 British teams just missed out on the medals at the trampoline World Championships in St Petersburg.
The men's and women's tumbling teams and the men's double-mini team could not have come closer to the honours as all finished fourth in their respective finals.
In the women's event, Russia took gold with 100.90 points, the US and Canada won silver and bronze, scoring 94.00 and 93.00 respectively, with the British team racking up 90.20.
The men's final saw China become the surprise winners on 110.90 points to beat favourites Russia on 109.40 and Belarus claimed bronze on 104.50. Britain were a further two points back.
Meanwhile, the men's double-mini team finished behind Portugal, Russia and the US, again in fourth.
Earlier this month, exercise instructors from Power Play Fitness in Dallas told CBS3 that making use of a mini-trampoline can help sportsmen across a range of disciplines to improve their fitness.
