British teens perform well at trampoline world championships
23/11/2009 British gymnasts put on a good show on the trampoline at the World Age Group Championships in Russia, taking home a number of medals.
Emma Smith put in the most successful performance, bouncing her way to a silver medal in the girls 17 to 18 year old trampoline final.
Not to be left behind, the boys also put on a good show in the 17 to 18 year old age group, with Nicholas Davies finishing fifth and Bradley Hampson finishing sixth.
The 19th Trampoline World Age Group competitions took place in St Petersburg between November 18th and 23rd.
They followed the 26th Trampoline World Championships where Brit James Higgins made it through to the men's trampoline final, finishing in seventh place.
Cara Jamieson and Katherine Driscoll finished fifth in the women's synchronised trampoline final.
Britain also saw results in the double mini trampoline with Adeva Bryan finishing eighth in the women's final and Dominic Swaffer, Jason Plowman and Matthew Swaffer coming third in the men's double mini trampoline team final.
As well as being a British world class sport, trampolining offers many benefits to those who just want to bounce around in their back garden by improving co ordination, muscle tone and balance.
