British trampolining champions named
22/07/2009 James Higgins and Katherine Driscoll triumphed in the senior categories at the 2009 British Trampoline Championships at the NIA in Birmingham.
Men's favourite Higgins bagged his third title in a row, as a score of 38.700 eclipsed that of Northampton teammate Steve Walsh (36.900) and Edgbarrow's Nicholas Joyce (35.500).
He said he was "delighted" to claim another title and to join the elite list of multiple winners.
"For me this feels like a really good start to a very important year and I'm now looking ahead with confidence to World Cup events and of course the World Championships," he added.
Katherine Driscoll, of Apollo Trampoline Club, beat Amanda Parker of Edgbarrow (34.800) and Emma Smith of Aerodynamic (34.500 points) to the top of the podium in the Ladies event with a score of 35.700.
She became the first new Senior Ladies winner for nine years, taking the title from the now retired eight-time winner Claire Wright.
