Celebrity trainer offers new year's fitness advice
31/12/2009 Specific and realistic goals are the key to keeping your new year's fitness resolutions, according to one celebrity fitness coach.
Tracey Anderson, who has worked with the likes of Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow, told the US TV programme The Early Show that there are simple reasons why most people fail to stick to resolutions.
Ms Anderson recommended setting specific targets that fit in with your strength and making sure you don't let your goals become an obsession.
She told the show: "Make the action as doable as the goal, [such as] when are you going to work on it, for how long, and at your level. Each step has to be able to be done well and tailored to your ability."
Listening to music, working out with friends and scheduling days off were just three of the steps she suggested people should take to improve their chances of success.
For those who want great results but don't have the time to go to the gym a mini trampoline could be the ideal piece of exercise equipment. Experts estimate that just 10 minutes on a trampoline provides the same benefits as 30 minutes spend running.
The actress and singer Mandy Moore recently announced in an interview with Shape magazine that she was planning to keep fit and healthy in 2010 by using her home exercise equipment more, including spending more time on her mini trampoline.
