Children enjoy using trampolines at Dublin summer camp
22/07/2010 A trampoline camp at University College Dublin has been helping children learn how fun the activity can be.
Participants at the trampoline summer camp have also discovered the health benefits that using trampolines offer, The Irish Times reported.
Children of all ages have been bouncing up and down on the Olympic-size trampolines.
Although most of the time is spent on trampolines at the week-long summer camp, there are also ball games and stretching exercises on offer.
Each coach is in charge of seven to eight children, aged from six to 18.
"You learn to stay in the centre of the trampoline and not try anything you don't think you'd be able for. It's about keeping a cool head so you can build up your skills," 14-year-old James told the paper.
Some of the older participants are capable of doing very impressive straight body turns, double somersaults and high bounces.
At nearby Loughlinstown leisure centre, in south Dublin, children can also enjoy the activity at the SuperSonic after-school trampoline club.
