China's trampoline stars take step towards excellence in Europe
01/09/2009China's trampoline athletes are hoping to excel in Europe as they prepare for two World Cup competitions.
The team will make two World Cup stops in Poland and Germany, but will face a set back as Olympic champions Lu Chunlong and He Wenna appeared to be off the pace in practice, according to CCTV.com.
He Wenna made mistakes in her last outing which kept her from qualifying for the final of the national championships last week.
She performed her optional routine, but did not complete the required ten jumps after struggling to find fitness.
However, in the upcoming meets, only one routine is required, which should work in He Wenna's favour in Europe.
Last week, Olympic silver medallist Jason Burnett and Rosannagh MacLennan from Toronto, were first and second in men's and women's trampoline after Friday's (August 27th) preliminaries at the third stop on the trampoline and tumbling World Cup circuit, reports the Canadian Press.
