Club adds more trampoline classes to cope with demand
29/10/2009 A gymnastics club is putting on more trampoline classes to cope with ever-increasing demand.
Whistler Gymnastics in Canada is nearly full to bursting and waiting lists have begun to form as places at the club are snapped up, reports Whistler Question.
With nearly 400 members, the club's Gymnastics for All and competitive programmes are thriving.
The club has recently secured new premises at the Whistler Athletes' Village to cope with the inexorable rise in interest over recent years.
"Right now it is a space issue," Whistler Gymnastics president Sandi Wentzel told the news provider.
At the moment the club is sharing the Spring Creek Community School gymnasium with other local user groups, but it is set to move home in the summer next year.
The president said that the club was enjoying a terrific season, and she believes that this is success is leading to more people becoming interested in the trampoline and other events.
As well as more trampoline classes, the club has now added a cheerleading programme to its roster.
According to Tesco Direct, sales of trampolines increased by 355 per cent in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year, reports the Associated Press.
