Combine exercising outdoors with 'me time' for a healthy lifestyle
13/04/2010 Getting enough rest is just as important as exercising outdoors when it comes to leading a healthy lifestyle, according to a celebrity fitness trainer.
Speaking to the Scotsman, James D'Silva said that people should aim to get at least seven hours sleep each night and spend an hour of their day concentrating on themselves.
Mr D'Silva is best known for his work with Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow and popstar Madonna.
He explained to the news provider that those who are thinking of starting a new exercise routine should start off slowly, with just 20 minutes or half an hour per session.
"Find a class that suits you, a teacher you get on with and it must be fun. If it's not, you might as well walk out," Mr D'Silva added.
Earlier this week, Richard Leigh, weight loss expert and founder of fatfreefitness.co.uk, suggested that exercising outdoors could help add variety to a gym routine.
Mr Leigh explained that many people get stuck in a rut which can leave them "bored and disheartened".
