East Kilbride celebrates more trampoline success
01/10/2009 Gymnasts from the East Kilbride Trampoline Club have returned triumphant from a competition in Portugal.
Following the news last month that four of the team and their coach will be heading to Russia for the 26th World Trampoline Championships next month, the club has been given further reason to celebrate, reports the East Kilbride News.
The team had some extra weight to carry back from Portugal last week after picking up six medals on their travels to the nation's Loule Cup.
Competing against clubs from around Europe proved no hurdle for the nine-strong team as they returned with three gold medals, one silver and two bronze.
Head coach Olivia Sorbie who will join Rebecca Ogilvie, Louise McCartney, Louise Whitters and Pamela Clark in St Petersburg in November watched on as the team collected the accolades.
Pamela finished in first place in the under-15 girls age group, with team-mate Carla Mills finishing second.
The pair then went on to finish in first place in the junior girls' synchronised event.
