East Kilbride claims success at UK trampoline championships
06/08/2009 East Kilbride Trampoline Club has returned victorious from the 2009 British Trampoline Championships.
Nine members of the club qualified at the Birmingham competition and have gained places to compete at the city's National Indoor Arena for this year's finals, reports the East Kilbride News.
The club continued to enhance its reputation at the event with Pamela Clark winning her individual age group for the fourth time.
Pamela went on to join Carla Mills to compete in the junior girls' synchronised event where the pair finished in first place.
Rebecca Ogilvie and Louise McCartney dipped out on victory in the senior ladies' synchronised event by just 0.3 points.
Louise Whitters reached the finals of the under-15 youth girls' age group and finished in third place, this proved to be a strong division for the girls from East Kilbride as Louise then joined Brooklyn MacDonald, Linzi Campbell and Rhona Ferguson to finish in second place in the team event.
This autumn will see the 26th Trampoline World Championships take place in St Petersburg, Russia. The first was held in London in 1964.
