Edgbarrow Trampoline Club takes 14 medals in Loule
01/10/2009 A trampoline club in Wokingham is celebrating after it returned from an international competition with 14 medals.
The Edgbarrow club took four synchronised titles and one individual title at the Loule Cup in Portugal last weekend, according to getwokingham.co.uk.
Edgbarrow's star performer Sophie Lewis brought home the Junior Female title for the third year in a row.
Meanwhile in the under 13s individual age group Ben Cowper claimed second place, with fellow club members Ryan Peacock and Daniel Leitch coming in 11th and 20th.
Gold was struck again in the under 13s synchronised competition with Daniel and Ryan holding onto their early lead to claim the title by four marks from the home team Portugal.
In the 13-14 boys' synchronised event Ben Cowper claimed a gold medal after getting a near perfect score.
The Junior category for 13-17s is a higher level competition than the age groups, which demands greater difficulty of moves from competitors and saw Kate Overman finishing fourth, just 0.3 points away from a bronze medal.
Seven of the team will be heading to the 26th World Championships in St Petersburg, Russia, next month.
