Edgbarrow trampoline star wins another medal
14/10/2009 A young trampoline ace from Wales has added another accolade to her list of achievements.
Fifteen-year-old Sophie Lewis of the Edgbarrow Trampoline Club was awarded a gold medal at the recent Friendship Cup in the Czech Republic, reports Get Wokingham.
She competed against 39 other females from 14 nations in the under-18 category and cinched her win with a personal best score for her voluntary routine scoring a full point higher than the silver medalist.
Sophie also competed in then synchronised competition with her partner Emily placing second.
The youngster is currently at a training camp in Shropshire, preparing for the upcoming Age Championships in Russia.
Sophie recently represented Great Britain for the first time at a match against Germany held in Taunton.
Get Wokingham reports that once again Sophie performed well, finishing in fourth place and helping Great Britain to an overall victory.
She also scooped the Female Junior title at the recent Loule Cup in Portugal.
