Energetic gran jumps on trampoline
14/07/2010 Jumping on a trampoline could help one grandmother from Scarborough get her face on a cereal box.
Nestle has launched a campaign to find the new face of the Shreddies cereal brand and is asking grandmothers from across the UK to submit videos of themselves, which are then displayed on the website for the public to vote for.
As part of her entry, 75-year-old Winnie Clarkson was filmed skipping, jumping on a trampoline and completing a course on her mobility scooter, the Scarborough Evening News reports.
So far Ms Clarkson's impressive display has earned her more than 13,000 votes.
She told the news provider: "I just did it for a laugh. I can't walk too far any more, but I can sit and knit."
"I enjoyed making the video - it was great. I know I've got quite a few votes, and I feel good about that," she added.
Jumping on a trampoline is recognised as being a great form of physical exercise, as it increases balance and coordination, strengthens muscles and boosts the lymphatic system.
Importantly for older people, it is also a low impact exercise, making it easy on the joints.
