Evesham kids to get new trampoline
19/11/2009 Youngsters in Evesham are to receive a new trampoline as part of a £150,000 play area.
Work is scheduled to begin next week on the park, which will include a trampoline, sand pit, embankment slide, climbing nets, balance beams and basket swings, the Evesham Journal reports.
The move is part of a government scheme called Playbuilder, which aims to transform local areas into innovative play spaces where youngsters can enjoy outdoor exercise.
Lynn Stevens, Wychavon's parks officer, told reporters: "The first new piece of equipment will be a Typhoon swing, which is rather like a large maypole with ski button seats and works with a carousel motion, and this will be installed next week and will be in use over the winter."
Last month, Play England published guidance indicating that improving play space and considering childrens needs within a wider environment can have a positive effect on youngsters, families and communities.
