Exercise expert waxes lyrical about trampoline fitness

17/08/2009
An exercise coach and dietician has been telling her clients all about the benefits of rebounding on a trampoline.

Aohra Feliciano has been advising ladies about how they can keep their curves, but stay healthy, reports Inquirer.net.

She said that by jumping and bouncing on the trampoline, it makes the legs more powerful so that they act as a complementary pump for invigorating the heart.

Bouncing also compresses the toxins from the body as it is pulled by gravity.

Ms Feliciano told the news provider: "Then, its subsequent propulsion in the air decreases the pressure in the cells and stimulates the flow of nutrients and blood circulation."

She added that as a low-impact exercise, rebound exercises take the pressure off the weight-bearing joints.

"The ideal is not about being thin. Everybody wants that. It's about being proportioned and having curves," the expert concluded.

Last month, health commentator Michael Russell claimed the g-force exerted on the body by the bouncing motion of a trampoline helps to get rid of toxins in the body.
