Exercising outdoors 'should be a family affair'
12/11/2010 As British households lead busier and more hectic lifestyles than ever, finding time to hit the gym can be tricky, but parents have been offered some advice to get the whole family exercising outdoors.
Writing for DNJ.com, Junice Rockman recently discussed the benefits of outdoor play and physical exercise, which can help boost energy levels and promote better sleep during the colder seasons.
Outdoor play activities, which may include trampolines for the garden, are also important to children's development, helping to instil discipline and healthy ways of living, as well as strengthening their bones and joints.
"Families spend most of their time apart due to careers and other responsibilities. [But if you] plan a workout time that fits all of your schedules, you'll get some much needed time together," Ms Rockman asserted.
Earlier this week, the Irish Independent suggested a number of outdoor play ideas to get British families into the garden, perhaps to exercise on garden trampolines, and beating the winter blues.
