Exeter University wins big at trampoline competition
30/03/2010 The British University and Colleges Sport (BUCS) trampoline championships have seen youngsters from Exeter University pick up several medals.
Some 31 students were selected to represent the higher education institution at the tournament's southern qualifiers in Plymouth last month, with 11 going through to the Sheffield finals.
Taking place on March 14th, the contest yielded a level four gold medal for Steph Dodds and saw Fred Campbell-Jones secure a bronze prize at level two, the university's xmedia online reports.
Exeter University has now gained five BUCS points thanks to the work of the trampolinists, with the group winning the establishment's Team of the Year award at its Athletic Union Ball.
Team captains Alex Boud and Georgina Hetherington told the site: "We are so proud of the effort and dedication that all our trampoline club members have shown this year. Well done."
British Gymnastics recently reported that seven UK trampoline athletes have been selected to represent their country at Prague's Four Nations Trampoline International in May.
