Families 'should invest in a 12ft trampoline'
16/04/2010 Parents looking at buying trampoline should invest in a model which is at least 12ft in diameter, according to one website.
Suite 101 said that smaller models are suitable for children but if adults will be using it as well a 12ft trampoline or 14ft trampoline would be best.
It added that features parents should keep an eye out for include safety nets, a protective cover and a mark indicating the centre.
In addition, people should look at the availability of replacement parts to ensure that their trampoline remains safe in the long run.
Trampolines could also be an ideal piece of outdoor play equipment for families with autistic children.
Shara Davis, a specialist at the Alight Paediatric Therapy Clinic in Texas, told the Herald-Zeitung earlier this week that equipment like trampolines and swings can help improve some of the symptoms of autism.
"You can see the [movement] helps to calm them down," he explained.
