Garden trampolines 'burn 1,000 calories an hour'
26/01/2011 Bouncing on trampolines for the garden can be an effective way to burn calories, lose weight and get fit, according to one expert.
Writing for the Sun Herald, Merrie Leininger explained how trampolines were a popular choice for those in search of a fun, high-intensity workout that could help them get in shape quickly and without a dull moment in sight.
"You can burn up to 1,000 calories an hour while working out on a trampoline. But even more importantly, jumping on a trampoline is just as fun as you remember [from childhood]," she explained.
While some people choose to attend organised fitness events and aerobics classes, others may prefer the privacy of exercising outdoors in their own backyard with trampolines for the garden.
Earlier this week, blogger Jonas Schroeder urged families to purchase garden exercise equipment for a fun workout that both children and grown-ups will enjoy, without breaking the bank.
