Girls hold trampoline fundraiser for Haiti earthquake
29/01/2010 Three youngsters will be taking part in a sponsored trampoline jump to help the victims of the Haitian earthquake, reports the Keighley News.
Eliza Dewhurst, Katie Womersley and Isobel Town have taken up the challenge of jumping on a trampoline for two hours straight to raise money for the disaster relief efforts in Haiti. Eliza and Katie, aged nine and 15 are both from Silsden, while Isobel, aged seven is from the Bradford area.
The trio will be jumping on a garden trampoline outside Eliza's home between 14:00GMT and 16:00GMT on Sunday February 7th.
Sponsored bounce-a-thons are becoming increasingly popular and many charities have now benefitted from the money raised from them.
Earlier this month it was reported in the Worcester News that members of the local university's trampoline club raised £450, which will be used to buy new equipment, from a 24-hour trampoline fundraiser.
Members of the Springfit trampoline club in Horley and the Pointers trampoline club in Caterham also took up the challenge of jumping on a trampoline for 24 hours and raised over £1,000 for pre-school equipment.
The Keighley News said that anybody wanting to help make the Haiti trampoline fundraiser a success should contact Caroline Dewhurst on 01535 656622.
