Just five minutes of 'green exercise' can boost mood and self esteem, according to research.
A study conducted by the University of Essex has discovered that outdoor exercise, such as using a trampoline, can help improve psychological health by reducing stress levels and enhancing mood.
According to the researchers, outdoor activities can allow people to relax, unwind and recharge their batteries.
For the last seven years the Green Exercise Research Team at the University of Essex, has combined their ideas into a programme of research to investigate the benefits of engaging in physical activities whilst being exposed to nature.
This month, the Daily Mail reported on the benefits of exercising on a trampoline. According to the paper, the activity provides a full-body workout and is kinder on the joints than running.
However, it should not be performed if you suffer from back pain or have any muscle or joint injuries, the paper highlighted.
