Gymnast swaps the vault for the trampoline
04/11/2009 A former European Champion in artistic gymnastics has swapped the vault for the trampoline.
Marine Debauve is undergoing some very different training after she decided to pursue medals as part of France's trampoline and tumbling team, reports examiner.com.
At the age of only 21, Ms Debauve has already competed in the Beijing Olympics, but she since opted to take on a new challenge in a different sport.
The French gymnast has been hampered by an ankle injury this season which will keep her out of the Trampoline and Tumbling World Championships in St Petersburg in Russia this month.
Despite the setback, French newspaper Le Pays reported earlier this week that she is focussing on next season.
As an artistic gymnast, Debauve achieved her country's highest-ever finish at the 2004 Olympics, following that up by winning all-around gold and a silver on beam at the 2005 European Championships.
In October this year, the World Gymnastics Championships were held in London for the first time.
