Help kids to have fun in the garden with outdoor play equipment
03/03/2010 Purchasing outdoor play equipment is a great way to get children out of the house and playing in the garden, according to one blog.
Australian company Yogee Toys said that outdoor play activities are an important part of child development, and not only because they help improve physical fitness.
The firm's blog explained that water, sand and mud can be used as tools to aid sensory development, while outdoor play equipment can help exercise the key muscle groups.
In addition, it was suggested that parents should supervise young children at all times when they are taking part in outdoor play activities.
"See outdoor play as an opportunity to join in with the children. Get up and chase, run and laugh along with them for a while. This will not only give them a wonderful time but will keep you active as well," the blog explained.
The advice echoes that given recently by Parentline Plus, which suggested that playing with children helps them to feel loved.
