Higgins 'the man to beat' at trampolining nationals
10/07/2009 Defending champion James Higgins will again be the man to beat in the individual competition at the British Trampoline and Double-mini Trampoline Championships.
The Northamptonshire Trampoline Gymnastics Academy member will be going for another gold in the senior men's competition, after previous successes in 2007 and 2008.
James, 25, will rise to third in the all-time winners' rankings should he retain his crown, behind multiple winners Stewart Matthews and Carl Furrer.
Steven Walsh, also of the Northants' academy, Daniel Greaves of the City of Liverpool Gym Club and Andrew Freeman of Kingston Trampoline Academy will be among those hoping to topple the reigning champion.
James Higgins has been making waves in the trampolining world for some time.
He triumphed in the over-19 age category at the 2006 British Championships, despite having only returned to training ten months previously following a two-year break, reports the BBC.
