Just 30 minutes of exercise or outdoor activity per day could put you well on your way to healthier lifestyle in 2010, according to one medical expert.

Peter Brubaker, a professor of Health and Exercise Science, a Wake Forest University in the US, said that many people don't believe that exercise is good for them if they're not losing weight.

Professor Brubaker said: "Regular daily exercise is the most important step toward a healthier lifestyle. People don't realise you can get tremendous benefit from regular physical activity even if you never lose a pound."

Building your fitness routine into your day, and exercising in bite sized chunks were given as two of the top tips to make sure you reach your fitness goals.

He also recommended trying a variety activities and finding ones that you find enjoyable.

For those people who do not have the time to get to the gym, a mini trampoline could be the ideal piece of exercise equipment.
