Islington families 'can enjoy trampolines for less'
03/12/2010 Households in the Islington borough of London will soon be able to enjoy exercising on trampolines without breaking the bank, as the cost of council-run leisure facilities looks set to fall in real terms.
According to the Islington Tribune, charges for the use of local outdoor play activities, including trampolines, will fall next year by 3.4 per cent, compared to an inflation rate of 4.3 per cent.
Labour council leader Catherine West told the newspaper that councillors wanted more residents to feel the benefits of outdoor play, by using local facilities to exercise together as a family.
"We want people to go to our leisure centres and have a jump on the trampoline or go climbing on the climbing frame. We’ve got to get people out there being active," she added.
Last week, 123ofweightloss.com suggested that the advantages of owning trampolines for the garden were "huge", as both parents and children can have fun bouncing around and keeping fit.
