Jump on a trampoline for a cheap cardio workout
11/01/2010 Jumping up and down on a trampoline is an effective and inexpensive form of cardio vascular exercise, reports Floridatoday.com.
The US-based website suggested jumping up and down with the aid of a trampoline or skipping rope as a "cheaper way to get your heart pumping" than investing in bulky items of exercise equipment, such as bikes and treadmills.
Christie Brandolini, a personal trainer at the Life Shape Fitness Centre, said: "Jumping jacks, jogging in place, jumping from side to side are all basic things people wouldn't think of."
As well as providing the body with a great form of cardio vascular exercise, jumping on a trampoline also provides a detox.
The lymphatic system, which is responsible for ridding the body of toxins that haven't been absorbed into the blood, relies on gravity and body movement to operate. Jumping on a trampoline helps to stimulate this system and rid the body of the toxins which have built up over the festive season.
