Jumping on a trampoline 'great cardiovascular exercise'
27/05/2010 Jumping on a mini trampoline is an ideal way to get the cardiovascular exercise which is important for a healthy heart.
The Cardiovascular Technologist blog explained that on top of maintaining a healthy weight, there are many advantages to exercises which get your heart pumping and lungs working.
It explained that exercise, such as that undertaken on a mini trampoline, improves the circulation of blood around the body, improving the levels of oxygen travelling to your organs.
"The fitter you are the lower your blood pressure will be as a stronger heart can beat slower but still pump large volumes of blood around the body," the blog explained.
In contrast a weak heart will have to work much harder, it added, suggesting that jumping on a mini trampoline was a great cardiovascular exercise.
Trampoline exercise has added benefits in the fact that it helps improve balance, coordination and stimulates the lymphatic system, which relies on body movement and gravity to operate.
