Mini trampoline 'a great way to get kids to exercise'
23/04/2010 Using a mini trampoline can be a great way to sneakily encourage kids to exercise, it has been claimed.
In a recent article for Modern Mum, Missy Chase Lapine, the author of the Sneaky Chef books, suggested that leaving a mini trampoline in the living room where kids will find it themselves is a great way to get them to exercise without saying a word.
"Sometimes the less you say the more impact you make. Keep some simple fitness tools around the house and let your children 'discover them'," she stated.
Missy also suggested using hula hoops, pogo sticks, skipping ropes, scooters and other forms of play equipment to encourage kids to exercise.
She added if parents get involved with playing and exercising with their child it will make them more likely to want to repeat the activity. She advised parents to make some time each day to play with their offspring, even if it is just ten minutes.
Missy's book, Cure Your Little Couch Potato, suggests a number of short games and activities that will sneakily encourage children to get more exercise.
