Mini trampoline exercise 'suitable during injury recovery'
12/05/2010 Rebounding on a mini trampoline is the ideal exercise for those recovering from injury, according to one blogger.
That's Fit writer Amber Greviskes reports that the low impact nature of mini trampoline exercise means that those who are looking to get back to fitness or are going through physiotherapy can participate.
Ms Greviskes' blog explained that throughout the Urban Rebounding class the instructor took particpants through a range of moves and reminded them that the key to mastering the mini trampoline was standing tall and sucking in their stomach.
"Although I didn't break a sweat - and I'm usually a pretty sweaty person - I could feel my ankles and calves stretching and strengthening. I could also feel my core muscles working hard to counteract the trampoline's bounce and keep me balanced," she added.
Another advantage of trampoline exercise is that the benefits can be felt in a short length of time.
The Health and Fitness Classes blog explained that those thinking of taking up a trampoline exercise regime should start with five or ten minutes per day, before building up to around 20 minutes.
