Funded by local authorities and cash from the BIG Lottery children's play programme, the area on Fysche Hall Field is one of 12 in the region which is being revamped, the Yorkshire Post reports.
The aim is to encourage local children to lead more active lifestyles and combat childhood obesity.
Councillor Anthony Alton, Harrogate Borough Council's member for cultural services, told the news provider that the outdoor platy activities area was "much in need of [the] investment".
"We are very pleased with the interest that local families have shown in helping us develop the proposals to provide modern and exciting play equipment that fits into a natural environment," he added.
