New trampoline class gets 'fantastic' response
24/08/2009 A woman who has been teaching gymnastics for "many years" is targeting younger children for her new trampoline classes.
Monica McKeddie has been encouraged by the number of people interested in being a gymnast, reports Times Bulletin.com.
Flip Tuck Gymnastics in the Innovation Centre in Van Wert, Ohio, has been inundated with enquiries about its new classes.
She told the news provider: "The response has been fantastic from the community with girls and boys of all ages learning the basics of tumbling, cheerleading, as well as the uneven bars."
She added that 125 students enrolled in the autumn session which began last week, ranging all the way down to the tiniest 'gymnasts' imaginable.
Ms McKeddie is trying to get children involved early as she said that it is probably harder to teach the older kids who have developed some habits or doing things a certain way.
She said: "It's better when they start younger. They learn more, and they're stronger when they're younger because they aren't as tall."
According to Vntinh.com, trampolines are a great way for kids and adults to stay fit and have fun at the same time.
"Bouncing on one of these pieces of equipment burns more calories and works your body more effectively than many people realise," it added.
