North-west carnival features trampoline
14/07/2010 Crowds of young and old people arrived at the Allithwaite Carnival in Cumbria this weekend to take part in dancing, processions and trampoline activities.
According to the North West Evening Mail, while there was a bit of rain during the July 10th event, which was to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its Carnival Queen competition, families enjoyed a wide range of activities.
Lucy Davies won the Carnival Queen crown, while other children exercised outdoors using the bouncy castle and trampoline on offer.
One group from Grange Dance Atikk, also presented two dance demonstrations at the event and got kids to keep fit and have fun at the same time.
Sue Wilkinson, a committee member of the Allithwaite Playing Fields and Community Centre Association, said: "The day was enjoyed by everybody. The rain could not stop the dance competitions. Considering the weather we had a successful day."
Hackney Council also held its Have a Go event at Shoreditch Park on July 10th as part of the Parks for Life scheme, offering Londoners the chance to try their hand at trampoline exercise.
