Older women could use trampolines to 'age well'
16/03/2010 Women worried about how their current health may affect them when they grow older have been advised to take up trampoline exercise.
Nurse practitioner Paulette Carpenter, who gave a talk entitled Aging with Grace and Vigour at a ladies' meeting in Colorado, US, last week, recommended jump ropes, weights and mini trampolines as ways for women to look after their bodies.
"There's nothing greater than cranking up some music and just going for it," Ms Carpenter said of potential trampoline exercises that females could take up to get fit.
She told the Journal Advocate: "Really visualise how you want to be, how old you want to be, how you want to feel, how you want to look and act when you're older."
It was added that exercise that emphasizes aerobics, strength, flexibility and balance, such as trampolining, is important because it helps prevent falls after age 65.
The organisers of No Smoking Day, which took place on March 10th, recently said that taking up mini trampoline exercise could provide a boost to smokers' attempts to get a healthier lifestyle.
