Outdoor play ideas: Parents 'should buy trampolines for the garden'
04/11/2010 Parents have been urged to think about buying a garden trampoline to get the whole family exercising outdoors, after research found that busy lifestyles are reducing the time mums and dads spend playing with their kids.
According to a survey by Persimmon Homes, the hectic pace of modern life means that parents increasingly struggle to make time to feel the benefits of outdoor play – and children are suffering as a result.
British families now spend less than six minutes playing together each day – but with a garden trampoline big enough, kids and parents could enjoy exercising outdoors from the comfort of their backyard.
"The best way to make sure your kids get enough play is to join in and help it along. It's a great way to have fun together," said Sue Palmer, a child development expert, when she spoke to The Sun newspaper.
Meanwhile, a writer on Editorschoose has said that incorporating trampolines for the garden into a daily routine of exercising outdoors can be a great way to keep little ones fit and healthy.
