Outdoor trampolines 'do not require a large garden'
01/11/2010 Those with small gardens will be aware of how valuable outdoor space can be, but while trampolines take up a lot of room, one design team has devised a method of getting kids exercising outdoors without handing over the whole backyard.
Landscaping experts Floral and Hardy have created an innovative and creative solution to the problem of including outdoor play activities without losing too much space – the hidden trampoline!
"Children love playing on trampolines so they make a great addition to any family garden, however, they can be a bit of an eyesore and take up a lot of space that can't be used for anything else," the designers said.
Their suggestion is to incorporate a 'sunken' trampoline – one which sits on a lowered concrete platform – with aluminium covers to conceal the outdoor play equipment when it is not being used.
Garden designer Helen Ellison, a representative of the Floral and Hardy team, went on to say that such well-thought-out plans allowed children to enjoy the benefits of outdoor play without parents having to lose their outdoor space.
