Parents 'too tired for outdoor play activities'
10/08/2009 New research has highlighted that two-thirds of parents are too tired to play with their children when they get in from work.
According to the report from independent healthcare charity the Nuffield Trust, which highlighted how lazy many Brits can be, it is "no wonder" that one in six children are classified as obese before they start school.
Latest government figures suggest that in 2007 15.4 per cent of children aged two to ten in England were obese, an increase on 2006.
The Nuffield Trust's research also highlighted the laziest cities in the UK, based on the number of people who said they did not do enough exercise, with Glasgow coming out on top followed by Birmingham and Southampton.
One way parents could boost their fitness and spend time playing with their kids is by purchasing a trampoline.
According to a recent blog post on Vnet Articles, trampolines are fun for both adults and kids and provide a much better workout than many people think.
