Parents should buy trampolines to encourage sports success
22/10/2010 Those parents longing for their kids to grow up into Britain's next generation of sporting heroes should consider buying trampolines for the garden.
The Doncaster Free Press has this week reported the tale of a young South Yorkshire boy, now 14 years old, who has developed such strong trampoline skills that he will soon represent the UK in a world championship competition.
Alex Beardmore's mother, Tina, told the newspaper that she was thrilled to have raised a son with such impressive sporting ability.
"I'm absolutely ecstatic for him because he trains incredibly hard and I really don't know how he manages to do the moves he does," she added.
Ms Beardmore went on to explain that she had bought Alex a trampoline when he was just ten years old – and he was "never off it".
Her son quickly gained entry to a local trampoline club when talent spotters were blown away by his ability to spin and flip in the air, without having had any formal coaching before.
