Place garden trampolines in the shade for safety
24/02/2011 When buying trampolines for the garden online, parents are advised to place their outdoor play activities in a shaded spot, to ensure that children are kept safe when the sun is shining.
Bevis Man, from the British Skin Foundation, explained that as children tend to burn more easily than adults, sun cream and loose-fitting clothes should be worn at all times when they are exercising outdoors in the warmer months.
"Someone who is pale and burns easily can burn in as little as ten minutes on a sunny day, so you will need to take extra care when out in the sun. In all cases, it’s better to be safe than be sorry," he added.
Mr Man's advice for parents was simply to ensure that the kids are always well covered in sun cream when feeling the benefits of outdoor play during the summer.
Earlier this month, exercise and nutrition consultant Alan Gordon said that good weather can have a significant impact on people's sense of wellbeing when exercising outdoors.
