Rebounding on a mini trampoline is 'a more fun way to exercise'
18/01/2010 The health benefits associated with trampoline exercise make it a fun alternative to your usual exercise routine, according to Brett Blumenthal.
Ms Blumenthal operates the site Sheer Balance, which aims to provide advice on how people can lead physically and mentally balanced lives. She also hosts a national radio show in the US.
The Urban Rebounding exercise routine was named as a great exercise for core training, balance, co ordination and a good cardio vascular workout. Rebounding, which is another term for jumping on a mini trampoline, also helps stimulate the lymphatic system that helps rid the body of toxins.
Ms Blumenthal said: "The movements are less stressful on your joints and more fun than doing an average low-high impact workout."
She added that trying new exercise classes was a great way to keep yourself motivated.
Mini trampoline exercises could also be ideal for those who don't have the time or space for traditional exercise equipment. Experts believe that jumping on a trampoline is the most efficient form of exercise and just ten minutes spent jumping has the same benefits as half an hour spent running.
