Reece celebrates selection for Trampoline World Championships

18/08/2009
Reece Thompson, 18, has recovered from a broken foot in order to claim his place in the Australia World Cup trampoline squad.

The youngster has been selected to represent Australia at the World Open Double Mini Trampoline (DMT) Championships which will be held in St Petersburg, Russia, in November, reports the Wynnum Herald.

Following an injury-plagued season, the promising youngster is now looking to victory in Russia.

The frustrating 18 months included starting with a broken foot, which kept him out of competition for a year, then spraining his ankle.

Thompson, who has been to the World Championships twice before, made the open team for DMT and the age team for trampoline.

Last week, the Wirral News reported that Tranmere teenager Luke Strong, who has only been bouncing on a trampoline since 2005, is being tipped for success in Russia.
