Regularly exercising outdoors 'can help fight off illness'
06/01/2010 Regularly exercising outdoors can help fight off illness as well as helping you stay in shape, reports the Wall Street Journal.
New research conducted in the US is beginning to show that regular exercise boosts you immune system, helping you to fight off coughs, colds and other viruses.
David Nieman, director of Appalachian State University's Human Performance Lab in the US, told the newspaper: "No pill or nutritional supplement has the power of near-daily moderate activity in lowering the number of sick days people take."
People who are slim but inactive are at a risk of ill health if they don't take part in regular exercise, according to the report.
Jumping on a trampoline is one form of exercise which is known to detox the body as well as provide a workout.
The lymphatic system is the part of the body which removes toxins that cannot be absorbed into the blood from the areas around cells. As there is no organ to power the lymphatic system it relies on body movement to stimulate it, such as that which is created when you bounce on a trampoline.
