Resource centre holds trampoline fundraiser
14/10/2010 Staff and residents at a resource centre in Grimsby took part in a 24-hour trampoline fundraising attempt recently.
The mammoth challenge was completed to raise money to buy a new trampoline hoist and wheelchair bike for disabled users of the centre on Cromwell Road, the Grimsby Telegraph reports.
In total £6,000 is needed for the new equipment and the most recent fundraising effort added £400 to the kitty, as well as raising awareness about the important centre.
Sue Over, superintendent physiotherapist in adult disabilities, told the news provider that the trampoline provided the opportunity for users to stay healthy while having fun.
"We have previously struggled to get service users onto the trampoline but having the pit and the hoist makes it accessible for everyone to use it regardless of the disability which is fantastic," she added.
The news provider also reported recently that youngsters in Waltham, a village on the outskirts of Grimsby, will soon be benefitting from a new play area, which will include a trampoline.
