A woman from Richmond in the US is delighted after she returned home victorious from international competition The Louie Cup in Portugal on Saturday (September 19th).
In the women's double mini-trampoline team event, Chelsea Nerpio took the gold medal along with her fellow gymnasts, reports bclocalnews.
Ms Nerpio teamed with Gillian Bruce, Corissa Boychuk and Julie Warnock to lift Canada to first place.
There was more good news for the gymnast after Ms Nerpio finished fourth in the individual competition.
Gillian Bruce of Calgary, who helped the team to gold, added an individual bronze in the double mini trampoline event on the same day.
Ms Bruce said that competing at a different event which was not a regular fixture on the team's calendar will help them prepare for the trampoline and tumbling world championships in St Petersburg, Russia, in November.
The Canadian men eventually took team silver.
