Start exercising outdoors for International Fitness Week
01/02/2010 People looking to try something new or start exercising doors are being given the opportunity to over the next seven days.
International Fitness Week is running between February 1st to 7th and 400 gyms in over 15 countries will be opening their doors for free to help people kick start a healthier lifestyle.
The week is being fronted by the ex-Spice Girl Mel B who launched the event, which is being sponsored by Fitness First, in London.
She said: "I want to encourage everyone to find what works for them and make being active part of their lifestyle. It's easier than you think to get totally fit and we will show you how."
Each day of the event has been given a different theme. These include looking at exercising outdoors and indoors as a family on Saturday 6th and keeping fit with a friend on Sunday 7th.
A recent study, by researchers in the Netherlands and published in Acta Paediatrica, found that many parents of obese children are unaware that they are above average weight, which can cause issues in later life.
